A community immersion experience for Lincoln interns
So you landed a summer internship. Congrats! We hope you have an awesome experience working hard, being challenged, learning and loving your company’s culture, making friends, and earning some sweet cash—all in a day’s work. What about the other hours in your week?
For some off-the-clock fun, join MyTern, an immersive experience for interns of Lincoln companies. That’s you! MyTern is your turn to build professional identities and make Lincoln yours. MyTern supplements your day-to-day experience with after-hours events and relationships. All summer long, you get to forge connections with other interns, the business community, and Lincoln at-large—not just as your place to work, but your home and playground too. Get involved!
MyTern to Play: A Lincoln Hashtag Hunt, June 9
We take pride in our collaborative community spirit, and it comes with a healthy competitive streak. You’ll need that competitive drive, and some private detective skills, for our first event of the summer—a downtown scavenger hunt. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to interpret the clues, find the icons scattered around town, and take a team selfie in front of the final clue. You will be issued your standard selfie stick and hashtag (handy-dandy notebook not included). You’ve got two hours to solve as many clues as possible and make it back to the Railyard where there will be food, fun, and prizes for the winning teams. Remember to use the clues, gumshoes! #MyLNK #PlayToWin #SelfieGameStrong
MyTern to Pitch: What's Next for Lincoln?, July 12
We love Lincoln, but even a diamond needs a polish! We’re counting on your voice and perspective to lead our growth. How would you make Lincoln even more lovable? What challenges are we facing as a community and how would you solve them? During MyTern to Pitch, you’ll team up with other interns to come up with a product, technology, campaign, or event to bring Lincoln to the next level. You get three hours to create a three-minute pitch for your idea. It’s like Shark Tank, but with less yelling. Local business and entrepreneurship community members will help you along the way and judge the pitches. Prizes and unlimited bragging rights will be reserved for the top three pitches. Brain food and energy drinks will be provided but make sure to BYOTC—bring your own thinking cap.
MyTern to Toast: A Happy Hour Celebration, July 27
By this point in the summer, you’re probably already well-versed in the art of happy hour, whether it’s sushi at Blue or a local Blue Blood brew (try saying that five times fast). Round out your MyTern experience with free appetizers and advice from Lincoln lovers at the Single Barrel. This is your chance to get the inside scoop from people who used to be in your shoes—interns who turned full-time, college entrepreneurs who made it big, and other young professionals who have mastered adulting in Lincoln. Cheers to a summer well-spent!
